Arguing Online

Arguing: I spent years. Likely hundreds of hours online bickering back and forth with “stupid” people online and in real life. It was an addiction. I almost physically couldn’t help myself. My ego thinks it’s fun. (still does). But over time and with maturity I have realized there literally is no point. You can play chess with a pigeon, win and he will still strut around the board and poop on it like he won.

Truth doesn’t need a champion. It doesn’t need to be argued. It simply is.

What I am seeing now is actually even more entertaining and way less effort. These 3D die-hards WANT to argue so badly. When you won’t and simply say “We will have to agree to disagree” they lose their minds.

Just as satisfying. Just as funny.
Far less of a time and energy suck.

On with the show and focus on the good đź™‚

30 days in Facebook Jail, Again…

As Governor Desantis of Florida openly declared yesterday that Floridians could now sue big tech companies like Facebook and Twitter for deplatforming them (aka tossing them in Facebook jail) for perceived infractions that are unconstitutional and go against the first amendment freedom of speech I posted the video clip of him saying just that.

Within an hour it was “fact checked” and I was in Jail again.
I just wanted to say a heart felt thanks to the stupid fact checker who has added even more ammo to my potential law suit.

When we all start winning against you I will be sure to send you a fruit basket.

Sarah

Is the Message Finally Getting Through?

As many of you know I walked away from Facebook recently. I simply cannot deal with the bullshit any longer. Being randomly tossed in Facebook Jail for perceived violations that make zero sense when it is an obvious large scale bullying attempt to silence anyone with a non agenda driven opinion of their own is just not ok with me any longer.

I was happy with my decision despite my own admitted Facebook addiction.

Then I had a conversation with a young 20 something girl at a party this past weekend. We had been Facebook friends for a while, though I had never met her. She said she followed my posts and at first thought I was nuts. What I posted went against everything she was being told. It also was often marked as false by the goons other wise known as “fact” checkers which lead her to be even more suspicious of my information.

This was a young lady who had gotten in fairly deep with some very determined characters on the left. To the point that she had made a bullet proof vest and had a sign ready to attend a BLM rally that read “Shoot me”. Picturing this slight pretty girl wearing that and holding that sign upset me greatly. I was very glad her now boyfriend was able to talk her out of this potentially dangerous decision.

Then apparently my posts sparked something in her that caused her to question the narrative as well. She went on to tell me that because of my posts as well as her new boyfriend’s influence she would not be getting vaccinated.

This actually brought tears to my eyes. I was touched that I had been able to help protect someone’s health and potentially their life as well as feeling very grateful that this very nice but very young and naĂŻve woman would not end up suffering badly because of the acceptance of opinions of others no matter how hard they were shoved down her throat.

This does, however, leave me with a bit of a conundrum.
I do not approve of Facebook or their antics. I don’t want to be a part of it any longer.
BUT: If my presence and my thoughts are being read by others outside of those who already see things clearly, maybe I am not simply preaching to the choir? Maybe my presence there is actually needed.

This requires more introspection on my part before moving forward in either direction.
It was heart warming to see someone on the verge of really awakening. I did not push and instead guided and advised her to be very careful who she listens to these days. To do a check in with her own inner guidance and dig and research before coming to any conclusion, even on blogs or posts that I offer up.

Maybe there is a grain of hope left for this next generation…

You are Addicted to Facebook and it Has Become an Abusive Relationship.

Facebook has become the standard for social media. They still hold 70% of the market share over Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and others. You may have noticed in recent months and years that the censorship going on with Facebook has gotten really out of hand. Users are being tossed in what has been nicknamed Facebook Jail for the most minor infractions many of which don’t make any sense at all or even correlate to the post in question.

I am a repeat offender. I have been tossed in Facebook jail for apparently offensive humor on harmless memes. I have been cited for consoling a British friend jokingly saying “Don’t feel too bad. American’s are stupid too”, apparently that is hate speech despite the fact that I AM American…. and most recently I got a 30 day suspension for daring to tell people through a doctor client account that fresh air, sunshine, exercise, and vitamins were a better way to support your immune system than a potentially dangerous non approved “vaccine” (and I use that word very loosely).

That hit my breaking point.

They ban the rightful winner of the election and President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, and bolster and promote the scum who over threw our government. Mark Zuckerburg has been shown and proven to have donated money which helped sway and contaminate the election. That money was made from all of us using the Facebook platform. The only way Facebook is ever going to lose their reach and power is to take away their income stream.

It is time to leave Facebook.

Why is this tough to walk away and delete the app?

The answer is simple. You are an addict. Yes, I said it. You are an addict. Did you know that at Facebook they refer to us as Users.. and categorize us as heavy users or light users.

Despite the cancel culture, the censorship, them treating you like a bad 5 year old – sticking you in the corner with gum on your nose trying to shame you into believing the accepted bullshit narrative, you still want to go back. Trauma bonding is real as is Stockholm syndrome. Ask yourself, are you a captive by choice? if you find yourself logging in multiple times a day yet cursing Facebook…

That is an addict.

The only way to break this cycle is to walk away.

Come join me at Gab.com/sarahjulie. I walked away………………….. and I feel great.

What 30 Days in Facebook Jail Has Taught Me

I am sure Mark Zuckerburg would hope it would teach me to mind my manners, stop posting truth, and be a milder more concerned version of myself. BWahahhahaha. Sorry Zuckerburg… what it has taught me is that I don’t need Facebook.

Yep, that is right. We are sick of your censoring Marxist shit! You are pushing yourself right out of the game. We literally think you are scum at this point and hate you as well as the toxic relationship we are all in with Facebook. Its abusive and pointless.

My business page of 13 years had been blocked from boosting or creating ads despite never once having an infraction against it. Why? Oh I am guessing due to my personal views which I never once posted on there.

Enough is enough. Where is your line?

Being lied to and deceived purposefully? Being silenced? Being jailed? Is all of that ok with you?

FaceBook is Banning Valid Advertisers and Longstanding Pages for No Reason

So! There have been tons of rumors of conservative accounts being blocked and banned on Facebook. You may know people that keep getting tossed in “facebook jail” mostly for no real reason but imagined infractions…

I have been outspoken for my entire life and I knew me being censored was coming but I sure did not expect my professional page to be under attack. I have kept my opinions to myself on that page and only post work related items.

Still for some unstated reason and despite the thousands of dollars I have spent advertising for clients with them since 2009 my account has been restricted and I cannot advertise.

“Unusual activity” – there has been no unusual activity on this account. So I click on hoping to dispute.

After this it sends you to a screen to enter your phone # and says it will send you a code. It does not. No code comes.

So – I am stuck. 11 years of work down the drain for no valid reason. You cannot contact facebook directly and according to the graphic above in 29 days if I do not finish my dispute (which I cannot finish without a code) they will permanently ban me from doing my job.

Thanks Nazi-Book!
Good luck fellow business owners…. They aren’t just making this personal they are trying to ruin people’s income too.

The Selfie Obsession – What’s Really Behind It

Many of us look at the number of selfies people post online and think “narcissist”. But is there more to it than that? Our online personas are the faces we wish to present to the world. It’s both who we are and who we strive to be wrapped into one.

With the help of newer technologies, the view we present may or may not be the whole truth. Filters and Photoshop can do a great deal to alter the final image.

The question becomes, why are we doing this and why can’t we just be happy with ourselves as is?

The answer is perception.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. We have all heard that time old phrase but how true is it really?

Have you ever wondered what our brains see and if what one brain sees is the same as the next? My best guess is that indeed we do see things just a bit differently from each other.

In the past, we have relied on others to take photos of us. Cameras just weren’t built for aiming towards yourself. They were too big and too bulky. Because of this we were always only presented through the perspective of the photographer.

This varied perspective is part of why we may love one photographer’s work and not so much another. Composition, lighting, angle, and personal view all come together to make the finished image.

With the invention of smaller handheld phone cameras – came the selfie. I believe why this has become such an enormous trend is not just convenience but the ability to be the photographer. To capture what you see as your true best self. Selfies are the view you want the world to have of you. So when you are happy with the result you are proud to show it off.

***There is some kind of odd phenomenon that happens in photography. Many people will look at an image and say “That’s me?” as if they don’t recognize themselves. Somehow they get so hooked and focused on flaws that they don’t see their beauty until presented third person.
The same happens in voice recording. Your own voice will not sound like you (at least not to you).

Add to that the magic of filters and you can be thinner, have better skin, change your eye color, and do wondrous things. I have done magazine and editorial photo editing. It isn’t a pretty thing to see some of the before and after images. We smooth every line, wrinkle, freckle, birthmark, heck even the model’s armpits are touched up beyond recognition half the time. Necks are lengthened, shortened, and the same with legs and waists. These models are beautiful to start with, yet somehow as an advertiser in society, we wash away on purpose what makes them – them.

It’s no wonder the public has followed suit.

I don’t believe selfies are so much about vanity as they are the ability to try and control how the world sees you, as well as how you perceive yourself so that it matches up with how you view yourself in your mind’s eye.

Social Media Isn’t About ROI

Let’s set the record straight. You need social media in this day and age to advertise your business. But, I also need to add that it is not about direct ROI (return on income) its about brand recognition and getting your name out there… Social media helps lend credibility to your company as a viable brand. If you expect to get rich over night only doing social media you are in for a rude awakening.

Twitter, Facebook, Instagram – they all help your company via visibility. People often check to see if you are present the same way they look you up on Google for reviews and a presence there. They may even go to Facebook for your address or phone number.

All of it is just a piece of a marketing funnel… and you need the entire funnel, not just one piece and certainly not just a short period of time. The world is flooded with businesses just like yours. The idea behind social media is to help yours stand out and express its individuality and confirm why people should trust and go with you when buying or using a service.

The main complaint we hear from clients is “But we aren’t getting sales directly off of our social media. Maybe we should just stop.” While you are more than welcome to of course, it is a bad idea. Continued presence makes an impression of success. Likes, though fairly meaningless, make the impression that other people like the page and they should too. Success breeds success.

Mixing Social Media, Fresh Original Content on your web site and SEO (search engine optimization) along with some paid marketing efforts is the mix to go for.

Create fresh original content by way of regular well key worded blogs, spicing up on page content to keep the crawlers crawling, and doing great on page SEO targeting the audience you are looking to capture is key. Add to that directed marketing efforts like direct paper mailings and online AdWords ads which push people to your site where your message and products reside – now that is where your ROI comes in. That is where the right combination = money in your bank account.

We all want instant results. While paid ads can deliver that, it is the organic natural formation of SEO strategies that last over time. Blogs get shared, links built, your name pops up more and more. You move up in the ranks of Google, Yahoo, Bing and other search engines.
When the payment on pay per click ads stop – so do the ads and so does the traffic. With organic SEO, even if you stopped all efforts today… results would stay and possibly still keep building over time.

If you want your business to succeed online you have to give it time, effort, consistency, and yes invest some money into it as well. Very few businesses operate solely online. If you operate a service business and expect to sit back and just watch the customers roll in with no effort on your part other than hiring a marketer, you are in for a short rough ride. Nothing beats great word of mouth advertising. Great products, service, and overall attitude of the company will make a company while the opposite surely also holds true.
