Social Media Isn’t About ROI

Let’s set the record straight. You need social media in this day and age to advertise your business. But, I also need to add that it is not about direct ROI (return on income) its about brand recognition and getting your name out there… Social media helps lend credibility to your company as a viable brand. If you expect to get rich over night only doing social media you are in for a rude awakening.

Twitter, Facebook, Instagram – they all help your company via visibility. People often check to see if you are present the same way they look you up on Google for reviews and a presence there. They may even go to Facebook for your address or phone number.

All of it is just a piece of a marketing funnel… and you need the entire funnel, not just one piece and certainly not just a short period of time. The world is flooded with businesses just like yours. The idea behind social media is to help yours stand out and express its individuality and confirm why people should trust and go with you when buying or using a service.

The main complaint we hear from clients is “But we aren’t getting sales directly off of our social media. Maybe we should just stop.” While you are more than welcome to of course, it is a bad idea. Continued presence makes an impression of success. Likes, though fairly meaningless, make the impression that other people like the page and they should too. Success breeds success.

Mixing Social Media, Fresh Original Content on your web site and SEO (search engine optimization) along with some paid marketing efforts is the mix to go for.

Create fresh original content by way of regular well key worded blogs, spicing up on page content to keep the crawlers crawling, and doing great on page SEO targeting the audience you are looking to capture is key. Add to that directed marketing efforts like direct paper mailings and online AdWords ads which push people to your site where your message and products reside – now that is where your ROI comes in. That is where the right combination = money in your bank account.

We all want instant results. While paid ads can deliver that, it is the organic natural formation of SEO strategies that last over time. Blogs get shared, links built, your name pops up more and more. You move up in the ranks of Google, Yahoo, Bing and other search engines.
When the payment on pay per click ads stop – so do the ads and so does the traffic. With organic SEO, even if you stopped all efforts today… results would stay and possibly still keep building over time.

If you want your business to succeed online you have to give it time, effort, consistency, and yes invest some money into it as well. Very few businesses operate solely online. If you operate a service business and expect to sit back and just watch the customers roll in with no effort on your part other than hiring a marketer, you are in for a short rough ride. Nothing beats great word of mouth advertising. Great products, service, and overall attitude of the company will make a company while the opposite surely also holds true.

Facebook Deletes Health, Wellness, Organic and Natural Living Accounts in the Name of Fake News

FB announced they were deleting “fake accounts” this week. Zuckerberg himself has announced that he will hire an additional 3,000 employees to shut down ‘fake news’ pages of this platform. Their definition of ‘fake news’ includes groups with labels of organic, natural, traditional, wellness, health and love, brighten my soul. Certainly looks like they’ve targeting deleted anything that threatens the Pharma money flow.

Health Freedom Idaho realized several years ago that Facebook censorship would eventually threaten our ability to share resources and truth. Healthfreedomidaho.org was created with the intention of sharing resources, keeping truth available for all those interested in preserving health freedoms in Idaho and across the U.S.

If you have an article or information you believe would be useful to others instead of sharing it on censor-ridden facebook – consider posting an article RIGHT HERE on healthfreedomidaho.org simply click the contribute button. Articles relating to topics of health freedom, parental rights and toxic exposure are welcome here.
To create an article and contribute content please feel free to use our CONTRIBUTE page. Our editorial staff will review and post it as soon as possible to share with the 77,000 current readers.

Has Your Facebook Account Been Compromised?

Find out if you are the only one logging on to your Facebook

While Facebook is fairly secure, with hackers where there is a will there is a way! It is easy to check your settings and see where logins have been coming from. Here is how!
Just follow these simple steps.

#1 Go to your settings

Settings

#2 Click Security & Login

Security

#3 You can now see “Where you are logged in”

logged in

From there you can delete any connections that you do not recognize. The wizard will guide you through to change your password and re-secure your account verifying recent apps added, activity, page roles, and other security measures.

Facebook wizardThough not every connection will be a hacker, sometimes you will see pinged tower locations for cell phone use, but if you don’t recognize a location, better safe than sorry.

Keep your digital information safe folks.

Sincerely,
Sarah Barendse

Wonder Why You Don’t See Friends in Your FaceBook Feed Anymore?

Whether you realize it or not you may have inadvertently not put some of your favorite people in your top 30.

That’s right, you only get 30 slots to Follow First on Facebook now. Everyone else gets mixed into the randomness of up to your 5,000 friend limit.

How do you check to see if someone is in your 30?

It is actually pretty easy. Go to their profile. Click on FOLLOW. A drop down box option is there for Follow First. Click that. They will be added to your 30. BUT…

IF you have reached your limit you will see this:

You must then edit your list and remove someone in order to replace that slot.

Those with blue stars are highlighted and chosen to follow first.

To unselect or select, simply click.

Voila!

There you have it – you have now revamped your Facebook feed in so far as who you will see posts from first.

This also explains the absence of some of your friends!
Happy Facebooking!

Sarah

Re-energize yourself with a 1 Day Technology Fast

Do you feel like you just can’t get everything done that you need to?

Are you tired even though you get plenty of sleep?

Do you ever feel like you simply just can’t catch up on life in general?

We all go full steam ahead at an abnormally fast pace these days. Work, school, kids, friends, meetings, appointments, errands, obligations, it can take its toll over time.

Taking time for ourselves has somehow become taboo and labeled as selfish. Here is the big news folks, it’s not! If you constantly burn the candle at both ends, do you know what you end up with? – A big unhappy glob of melted wax and a charbroiled wick.

This leaves a good portion of the country feeling this way and turning to doctors to figure out why they are depressed, exhausted, or even worse, sick. The answer should be obvious – we are not taking care of ourselves.

Communication is easier and faster than ever these days. Messaging, texting, smart phones, email, you are virtually always reachable. This is a double-edged sword. When we got these devices, none of us wanted to be at everyone’s beckon call, yet that seems to be where we are headed. We hear the beep, blip, ding or other sound effect signaling that we have a message and we jump. We have literally become Pavlov’s dog.

How many messages do you get a day? How many texts? They add up to us jumping constantly to look at our devices. You see it out in public, people in restaurants and parks, heads cocked down staring at phones – even when they are with friends.  We are so busy taking pictures and posting, commenting, liking and sharing that we are not living in the moment other than through those little screens.

This false electronic reality is fun, entertaining and informative, but it is also time-consuming and draining.

If you are feeling burnt out, take just one day and do a Technology Fast.

  • Put your phone away
  • Put your tablets away
  • Turn off social media accounts
  • Take the day off of work or do this on a weekend
  • Let friends and family know who might worry that you are doing this. Oddly, you may be met with some opposition, ignore it. This isn’t about them, it’s about you – your peace of mind and health
  • Spend time doing whatever makes you happy that does not involve the above mentioned electronic devices. – go for a walk, clean your house, lunch with a friend, take a nap, meditate, go to the beach, spend time outside, you name it.

It may be hard to break the habit of reaching for your phone to check what’s going on with everyone, but I guarantee by mid-day you will be feeling more energized.

If you are in the Naples, FL area, come take a class at Monarch Wellness. We have a wide array of classes to help you relax and center. www.monarchwellness.net

Social Media – All “Likes” Count

If you have a FB page set up for your business, you may or may not be currently seeing direct traffic as reflected through google analytics TO your website from your Facebook business page.

This does not mean you are wasting your time posting and keeping your Facebook up to date.

Think of your online presence like a funnel. You have all these different catch-alls at the top of the funnel (the widest part) – Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and more. Though Google is the main search engine right now, followed by Bing and Yahoo, many people rely on social media to get a feel for a company before they see their listing on a search engine itself or view your website. A first impression is everything. It is also being used to garner information such as location and phone number as well as website URL.

So while you may feel like you are not getting any return for your time, it’s simply often not the case.

If you have a business and either need your page set up or just don’t have the time to keep it up to date, I would love to work with you on it.

What IS Social Media Management

Social Media ManagementSocial Media Management and Marketing is a relatively new field. Social media encompasses any and all online sites that are focused on virtual networking and interpersonal communication. They can be aimed at business marketing or simply socializing, though often the two areas overlap and intermix.

Social media management is always customized to the individual. It can encompass everything from start to finish, setting up the page or pages, creating graphic banners or wallpapers, creation of individual graphics (sometimes referred to as meme’s) for specific ad campaigns or individual posts, as well as copywriting and coming up with the best wording to use.

The client often has a business to run and social media marketing management is more cost effective to outsource to someone rather than try and add yet another role to their already busy schedule. They can choose how many posts per week or month they would like, and simply sit back and let Damonaz Designs designers and writers do the work for them.

The more LIKES and traffic a page gets, the more wide-spread the name, brand and message. Having a clear brand and image across all platforms is important for recognition. Within our service, we cross promote on sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Instagram and whichever others you may select.

Why is any of this important?

Phone books have gone the way of the dodo bird. people are glued to their mobile devices as a means of gathering information. Sites like Twitter and Facebook have become a go to when looking up a business. Their Facebook profile page is a direct reflection of their business and often the first impression. What does yours say about you? Do you have one set up yet?

If your social media is lacking or worse yet, still non-existant let us help! Chat with us and see what we can offer. www.damonazdesign.com 239-244-8350

Facebook Friends Aren’t “Real” Friends..

Online Friends Aren’t “Real” Friends…

I have heard this time and time again and frankly? I simply do not believe that to be true.
Over the years I have met, online through various sites, likely a couple of thousand people in person. Only a very very few weren’t just as they seemed online. There are many more of you I would love to meet offline at some point. Some of you I have become so enamored with that I have kept you for nearly 2 decades now and I fully believe that we will be friends for life. (you all know who you are 😉 )

I currently have nearly 5,000 friends on Facebook.
It has been a weeding process for sure, but what in life isn’t a process of trial and error?
Even some that haven’t made the cut have ended up as entertainment for myself and in turn for those who read my wall.
There are no accidents. We come in contact with, meet and converse with and yes, even become friends with those who we are supposed to in the grand scheme of things on a Universal level.

We are living in an unprecedented time of open world wide communication. Never before in history have we been able to befriend someone half way around the world and keep in touch with them in real time. Go by how you feel. If you have a connection with someone, don’t let anyone tell you that isn’t real. Talking with and befriending people in person or other wise always leads to an enriched life and view of the world.

Chat away people! Facebook is fun, allows you to be creative and is far cheaper than therapy! LOL

Sincerely,
Sarah

Tsu.co – Original Content Violations – You may or may not be paid

Tsu.co – Original Content Violations – You may or may not be paid.

After a bumpy start with Tsu.co back in November, 2014 (see original stories here and here), and receiving an apology letter from Sebastian, creator of Tsu.co, I continued to post and build my downline (family) on Tsu.co. My bank currently sits at $20.65 on account.

The question many are asking now is “Is that money which is accumulating, really mine? Will the check be written when it reaches the payout mark of $100.”

The subject is being raised because of the question of what constitutes “Original Content” I have seen numerous posts asking for clarification.

Here is the actual answer:

1. https://www.tsu.co/terms/copyright
2. Content guidelines http://www.tsu.co/faq (click on content Guidelines under FAQ).

One paragraph reads:

Intellectual Property: Tsu.co promotes and rewards original content creators. Violating copyright law by posting someone else’s content without their permission is against the tsu terms and illegal. Some of the highest quality and most engaging content is your own. Whether it’s a photo of your dog wearing sunglasses, your favorite spot in town, or your grandpa’s 80th birthday; your friends and followers are here to get to know you. If you have a camera-phone, you’re a creator! We hope you will be inspired to show us what you can do.
We take content ownership very seriously at tsu. Please be sure that you have the right to share content with respect to copyrights, trademarks and other legal rights before doing so.

It seems that the majority of us are and have been doing it wrong. We are in violation and therefore gains made in this manner are invalid. When we reach the payout mark it is more than likely we will not receive a check.

So folks, It is not like Facebook in that we can share and post things we find that are amusing, funny, informative, interesting or so on.

Given, Facebook does not pay us for the posts we make, but chances are, unless you have been creating 100% your content posted on your wall neither will Tsu.

Now that you know the rules, you can play by them.
I, myself, either wasn’t paying attention or it wasn’t made very clear.
My wall is a mish-mash of things that are indeed original and mine as well as a collection of other items I found, identified with and wanted to share.

Is it worth the time and energy?

Only you can really decide that.
But don’t be surprised when you reach the pay out mark and all you get is a note that reads “ Go directly to TSU Jail. Do not pass go – do not collect $100”

Removed from Reality

The fascination we, as a society, have with observing other peoples lives from the sidelines has gone from merely entertainment to crossing the line of dangerous passivity.

Reality TV has given us all a voyeuristic window into the lives of others that has never been had in the past. There have always been nosy neighbors and gossips but now you don’t even have to get together with your friends, or even go out of your house. Just flip on the little box in your bedroom, living room, TV room, even bathroom and you can see in full color the drama and strife of other peoples daily lives.

No more need for writers, actors or even talented people at all. The only qualification seems to be vanity, a need for attention and to be vaguely attractive. Are you a total hot mess with a seriously screwed up life? Great! Video yourself, upload and apply! We can make you famous!

This is blurring the lines of reality.

What’s right?

What’s wrong?

What’s acceptable?

What’s sociopathic?

Apparently all of it and all the better if you happen to be able to capture someone doing something on your phone so you TOO can profit from it, whether it be monetarily or through the second hand attention of “likes” and praise online with YouTube or social media.

When did it become funny to watch people hurt themselves over and over and over again?

How many people can hit themselves in the balls with a bat, a golf club, a basket ball before you lose interest? Apparently for most of you the amusement goes on and on…

Yet I bet if it was you? You wouldn’t think it was so funny.

I have seen numerous videos online lately of incidences where someone is being harassed, hurt, injured or worse and what do the by standers do?
Live up to the name. They do nothing but stand by and film.

-Crowds of people gathered around young kids while others beat them, no one steps in to help.

-Adults throw temper tantrums at fast food restaurants, screaming obscenities at the workers – no one opens their mouths to try and get them to either calm down or leave, they just whip out their phones and record the abuse.

-In the Knockout Game, random strangers are simply hit out of no where. There are almost always several other people in the videos who again, just stand there. They don’t say a word, they don’t yell at the attacker, they don’t make any move to go after him and rarely do you even see them grab their phone to call for help.

-Police step over the line in arrests brutalizing citizens who are already down on the ground and compliant. Their friends just film.

While I do understand the natural inclination is to not want to be involved in a fight, you really need to consider – What if it was you?

Would you hope your friends, your family, a caring stranger, anyone would step in? Do something, say something, … ANYTHING?

I certainly would appreciate it.

I don’t advocate jumping right in to a fight if you are not trained.

What I am saying is speak up! Use your voice. Grab their arm. Make SOME  attempt to slow them down, insert a little reason in to the scene. Don’t just passively sit there and watch it happen. If you do, you BECOME part of the problem.

Let me say this as clearly as possible.

THIS IS NOT TV.

We are quickly losing our humanity.
